Golden Clouds In Jerusalem

General Info

Golden clouds float above Safra Square, altering the square and city hall’s appearance from both near and far. Over a six-month period, from April to October, various-sized hot air balloons shaped like clouds will hover above the square.
The movement of these clouds will create a mesmerizing display of light, shadow, flashes, and reflections. This project is both grand and whimsical, offering an enchanting experience for onlookers. The distant view of the illuminated clouds will elevate the city, emitting a radiant golden glow. Serving as a prominent landmark on the city’s skyline, these clouds will become a significant focal point.

Throughout the day, the clouds will showcase different perspectives, while at night, they will be illuminated from below, adding to their allure. Passersby will be pleasantly surprised by the dynamic resemblance of movement and light. The golden clouds will cast captivating shadows, transforming the exposed square into a distinctive and festive backdrop for various events.
The clouds will be constructed using polyvinyl chloride (PVC) with a metallic polypropylene coating, lending them their golden appearance. These clouds will be connected by cables to structures surrounding the square, defining their graceful movement. The project will be carried out in collaboration with a specialized company experienced in manufacturing hot air balloons and large inflatables.
